Ritmolanda is a percussion group from Voorburg, The Netherlands, consisting of some of the talented students of Drumschool Voorburg. The group is formed and led by drummer/percussionist Paul ‘Pablitoss’ van Nispen. Originating from a project started in 2006, Ritmolanda was formed in 2011 after a journey through the rythmic jungle of drums and percussion. The name is a linguistic blend of the Portuguese words ritmo (rhythm) and Holanda (Holland).
Inspired by drum music from all over the globe, Ritmolanda brings an energetic show full of uplifting beats and dansable grooves. From Funk to Samba and from African to Drum-‘n-Bass, all comes together in unique songs played on Brazilian samba-instruments. Inspired by Polish percussion group Ritmodelia, Ritmolanda travels yearly to Warsaw for some masterclasses of Ritmodelia’s band leader Miki Wielecki. Every summer, the group performs on several locations in Poland and also together with the Polish group Ritmo Bloco at the RITMO!-Festival. In 2019, Ritmolanda performed at the Internationale Sambafestival of Coburg, Germany, as part of Ritmo Bloco.
